  • Graduate Steel Detailer Trainees at Koyambedu Office – Self Register for online test on Moodle

    We have a few positions now available at our Koyambedu Office. We set up an online test to select competent candidates as the first step. This process is available for anyone who believes in some sort of prelimnary screening of applicants before calling them in for interview. Once the candidate walks in the door, then you are spending big money on them because the wheels of your machinery starts spinning and it does not spin for free.

    Now for aspiring candidates here is a process to apply for the positions we have.

    2. Click the button: ‘Create New Account’
    3. Enter a user name & password of your choice. If user name already exists, please try another.
    4. Enter your valid email address & your official First Name & Surname.
    5. Create your account. Go to your email inbox, open the email from System Administrator at Tek1, open the web address link in the email. This will confirm your account & login. If you haven’t received it immediately, check your junk mail box.
    6. Now go to the URL: http://tek1engineeringservices.com/onlinetests/enrol/index.php?id=18
    7. Under ‘Aptitude Test – Testing from Home – May 2019’, read the description. At bottom of page, enter Enrolment key: Testing1@2019
    8. Enrol. You will see a page sub-titled ‘Quiz 1′. Important: Read the instructions.
    9. When ready, take the quiz by clicking button: ‘Attempt quiz now’.
    10. Complete the quiz & submit.

  • Difficulties in getting in entry level engineering graduates

    Here are some of the difficulties we are finding in recruitment.

    1. Most applicants simply click the apply button and really does not read the job posting and the requirements for the job.
    2. Most applicants do not check the inbox for any responses to the applications they have sent. This is about 80% of all applicants.
    3. Out of the20% who read the responses and who actually respond, do not read the incoming email properly and do some random things. We have no option to progress with the application.
    4. Now from the balance, who actually read email and take follow up action, 90% are not suitable because of lack of basic high school mathematics and general aptitude knowledge.

    I am not sure whether all recruiters are facing the same problem. We surely are facing this issue

     

  • Modeling Cage Bolts

    There is no need to spend a lot of time trying to model bolt cage accurately if the drawings can be annotated to get the final accurate final intent

    Here I am showing an example of a bolt cage. There is not need to model the helix to avoid the clash. No one can make a lig with clash. Physically impossible. So no need to model avoiding clash. Let it clash. When the fabricator makes the lig he will do it without clash.

    another point to note is that we need not model tight to the anchor rod. Let one side extend a little bit to avoid the radius riding into the anchor bolt. It will be easier for modeling and manufacturing. There is no compromise in the final intended outcome.

  • Search for term in Tekla Advanced options

    You might need to find a term from a large number of advanced options available in tekla structures software. This video shows how to find all the options where the term is present. In this video I want to find all the options where the work “Family” appears. I did not want to go and look at every line in the options. I could simply type in the work “Family” in the search bar and click search. Please watch the video. This could save you a lot of time

  • Positions Available for Graduate Trainees – Steel Detailer

    We have 8 positions available for Graduate trainees to be trained into steel detailers.

    Positions are available in our Chennai Office at Arumbakkam

    Selection process.

    1. Online general aptitude test from your home.
    2. If you are successful in step 1 successful test from our office at Arumbakam. Will have multiple-choice questions, written answers, and technical interview.
    3. If you are selected, 2 months training during day shift 7 to 4 on 2d cad, how to read and interpret drawings and general engineering.
    4. After initial 2 months 6 months training from 12 AM to 6 AM detailing training. Includes Saturdays.
    5. If successful, you will be inducted as a junior member of the detailing team. on shifts 6 AM to 2:30 PM or 3:00 PM 11:30 PM.

    You will be required to pay a 2-month deposit towards a security deposit which will be refunded to you if you resign with proper notice. (2 months notice required).

    If you are not able to pay a security deposit you will have to agree to build up a security deposit by deducting a portion of the wages towards security deposit.
